Chris Tomlin... BOOK

I've been writing. (well today- I finally came up with something after a few days of NOTHING.) My Speaking on Wednesday? - went well;) Plenty of Potty talk;) Tried to post my outline... but apparently copy/ cut/ paste from a word .doc ends up looking pretty strange in Blogger!

This arrived at our house today.... if it doesn't work... we're switching to newspaper on the floor and a swat to the nose for accidents... kidding... kidding... mostly;) Hmmmm There is a urial in my bathroom.....that's interesting.

I'm listening to: Chris Tomlin's book: "The Way I was Made" Highly recommend.

Although- I have to keep editing out the parts where he's talking about the best time to deal with these issues is NOW while you're in COLLEGE.... ummm I suppose I haven't finished college, so I COULD be included in that group--- but then, I'm not GOING either... so I'm just OLD.

That's fine, still applies- just editing him in my head;)

I'm knitting the border on my Print O the Wave Stole...... having trouble figuring out the corner thing... whatever- will just keep going.

Here are the verses God and I are discussing, at the moment: (from the book mentioned above)

Psalm 139
For the director of music. Of David. A psalm.

O LORD, you have searched me and you know me.
You know when I sit and when I rise; you perceive my thoughts from afar.
You discern my going out and my lying down; you are familiar with all my ways.

Before a word is on my tongue you know it completely, O LORD.
You hem me in—behind and before; you have laid your hand upon me.
Such knowledge is too wonderful for me, too lofty for me to attain.

Where can I go from your Spirit? Where can I flee from your presence?
If I go up to the heavens, you are there; if I make my bed in the depths, you are there.
If I rise on the wings of the dawn, if I settle on the far side of the sea,
even there your hand will guide me, your right hand will hold me fast.

If I say, "Surely the darkness will hide me and the light become night around me,"
even the darkness will not be dark to you; the night will shine like the day, for darkness is as light to you.

For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother's womb.
I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful,
I know that full well.

My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place.
When I was woven together in the depths of the earth,
your eyes saw my unformed body.

All the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.
How precious to me are your thoughts, O God! How vast is the sum of them!
Were I to count them, they would outnumber the grains of sand.
When I awake, I am still with you.

If only you would slay the wicked, O God! Away from me, you bloodthirsty men!
They speak of you with evil intent; your adversaries misuse your name.
Do I not hate those who hate you, O LORD, and abhor those who rise up against you?
I have nothing but hatred for them; I count them my enemies.

Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts.
See if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.

Psalm 138

I will praise you, O LORD, with all my heart; before the "gods" I will sing your praise.
I will bow down toward your holy temple and will praise your name for your love and your faithfulness, for you have exalted above all things your name and your word.

When I called, you answered me; you made me bold and stouthearted.
May all the kings of the earth praise you, O LORD, when they hear the words of your mouth.
May they sing of the ways of the LORD, for the glory of the LORD is great.
Though the LORD is on high, he looks upon the lowly, but the proud he knows from afar.

Though I walk in the midst of trouble, you preserve my life; you stretch out your hand against the anger of my foes, with your right hand you save me.
The LORD will fulfill his purpose for me; your love, O LORD, endures forever—
do not abandon the works of your hands.

Psalm 8

O LORD, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth!
You have set your glory above the heavens.

From the lips of children and infants you have ordained praise because of your enemies,
to silence the foe and the avenger.

When I consider your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars,
which you have set in place, what is man that you are mindful of him, the son of man that you care for him?

You made him a little lower than the heavenly beings and crowned him with glory and honor.
You made him ruler over the works of your hands; you put everything under his feet:
all flocks and herds, and the beasts of the field,

the birds of the air, and the fish of the sea, all that swim the paths of the seas.
O LORD, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth!

What amazes me about these verses... is not what God thinks of US, but THAT He does at all.

Lord- I see in your word- not how you think of me, but that You think of me at all. It speaks of YOUR gentleness and loving nature... not of my worthiness, but of your tender love- I love you Lord- amen
